Ok, I knew the afternoon was going to have it's struggles because Joel refused to take a nap and Eli had only taken one in the morning. But we hadn't seen these friends in so long, I decided to brave it anyway...even if we couldn't stay long. Well, the party was full of fun outside since it was such a beautiful day and the kids had a blast. Joel particularly liked the lawn mower toy and just running around barefoot in the grass. Eli enjoyed crawling around and checking out the other babies and kids. Joel ate 2 pieces of cake (his favorite part of every party!) But, all good things come to an end...and after 2 hours Joel just couldn't play "nice" any longer so I told him it was time to say goodbye and thank the Alums for the fun party and food/cake. He would have NONE of that and threw the loudest tantrum I could imagine! Let's just say I got him out the door and to the van in record time and he was sound asleep by 6pm (Eli was too!).
