Adventures at A Knot

The herb garden

Mom's idea of relaxation!

Joel's artsy picture of us.

Elianna insisted that Joel put his arm around her!  So sweet!

So pretty.

We think Uncle Wiggily (and nurse Jane) lives here!

This is a leek going to seed.

She was pretty impressed

The rose that was almost as big as his head!
Just a few minutes ride from our house is a working horticultural farm called A Knot In Thyme.  What a beautiful morning we got to enjoy it!  We started with a stroll through the rose garden (50 varieties), and then the patterned (quilted) garden with herbs, vegetables, and flowers.  Joel took our picture by the unique vertical garden.  Joel got a kick out of the whimsical miniature garden where Uncle Wiggily and all his adventures happen of course!  The kids enjoyed seeing it all, but were super excited to take a wagon ride pulled by 2 huge black Percherons (French draft horses).  One horse weighted a ton!  In the middle of our ride, we stopped in a holly orchard to hear some teenagers who sang a couple Celtic tunes.  Browsed through their gift shop last...I know where to go now if I need a gift for someone and am in a hurry!
